A: System requirements: PC under Windows NT/95
                          16MB RAM

B: INSTALLATION GUIDE of FullProf.98 for Windows NT/95
    ===================================================

In this directory there is only a file called:

                   winfp98.zip

It contains the Beta-version of FullProf.98 for Windows, and
the program WinPLOTR that can also be obtained independently of
   FullProf from http://www-llb.cea.fr/winplotr/winplotr.htm.
The program WinDIC (Windows version of DICVOL91 from Daniel Louer)
has also been included. In can be run from within WinPLOTR.

For installing the programs, documentation and examples
   winfp98.exe must be copied to a directory (e.g. c:\fullprof.98).
   Do the following actions:

1: Unzip the file winfp98.zip keeping the internal structure
      of directories (e.g. pkunzip -d winfp98).
The files contained in winfp98 will expand on the
current directory (c:\fullprof.98) and in the
      subdirectories: docs, examples

      The content of winfp98.exe is:

     c:\fullprof.98
       readme ---- This file
       wfp98.exe ---- FullProf.98 executable file for Windows
winplotr.exe ---- WinPLOTR executable file for Windows
       windic.exe ---- DICVOL91 executable for Windows
       winplotr.ins ---- Manual of WinPLOTR
winplotr.new ---- Last minute information about WinPLOTR
       lf90.eer ---- File for run-time errors
       winplotr.set ---- Settings for winplotr
winplotr.dir ---- Starting directory for winplotr
fullprof.dir ---- Starting directory for winplotr

The content of the last 3 files should be changed by the user the
first time after installation. If the directory actually use for
installing FullProf is "c:\fullprof.98" no change is needed.
These files will be changed automatically by FullProf and/or
WinPLOTR on normal using of the programs.
The files winplotr.ins(new) should be in the same directory
         as winplotr.exe.

     c:\fullprof.98\docs
       fullprof.ins ---- Manual of the program (text-file)
fp_frame.htm ---- HTML version of the manual to be used
       fp_toc.htm locally with a browser (Netscape, ...)
       fp_text.htm
fullprof.ps ---- Introduction to FullProf. PostScript file.
       fp98.new ---- Last minute information about FullProf.98
(some documents may probably make reference to the 3.5 version)

       winplotr.htm ---- HTML version of winplotr.ins
       dicvol91.ins ---- Manual for DICVOL91

     c:\fullprof.98\examples
Series of PCR, DAT, INT files for testing FullProf.98 in
        different conditions. Readme file.

2: Define the environment variables FULLPROF and WINPLOTR pointing
to the directory holding fullprof.dir, winplotr.dir and
winplotr.set in the file "autoexec.bat". If this file doesn't exist
you must create it and add the following lines:

set FULLPROF=c:\fullprof.98 (or the actual directory)
set WINPLOTR=c:\fullprof.98 (or the actual directory)
      set path=%path%;c:\fullprof.98

C: Both FullProf.98 and WinPLOTR can be invoked from a DOS window
or clicking on an "alias" on the desktop.

If FullProf is invoked from a DOS window using the command
wfp98 without arguments an OpenFile windows invites the user to
select a PCR file. If a DAT, UXD, ACQ or INT file with the
same code as the PCR file exists in the same directory the program
assumes it is the data-file appropriate to the PCR file. Otherwise
a second OpenFile windows appears inviting the user to select the
    appropriate data-file.

D: If IPL2=4 (Ls2 in comment line) in the PCR file the program runs
in a step-wise mode showing the observed-calculated pattern at the
    end of each cycle.

E: FullProf can be invoked from WinPLOTR. To assure that
the present version of FullProf is actually executed don't
forget to write the name of the executable file (wfp98) in
the appropriate place within the winplotr.set file.

 F: For some installations only:
The behaviour of WinPLOTR in Windows 95 is not exactly the
same as in Windows NT. Don't forget to "reload" the PRF file
at the end of the session from WinPLOTR. Under Windows 95
WinPLOTR loads the current PRF file (if it exists) before
the end of the refinement performed by FullProf, so the displayed
version of the PRF file is not the most recent one. This behaviour
is not always the same. It depends on the particular settings
    of Windows 95.

G: For running FullProf in cyclic mode it is better to invoke the
program from a DOS window including the word "cyc" on the
    command line like:
          LocalPrompt> wfp98 cyc
Otherwise you have to create a fictitious (empty) file "cyc.pcr"
that may be selected from an OpenFile window.
