File Types

Using file type settings you can define which files should be indexed. For new index profiles indexing of HTML and text documents is enabled by default.

File type is identified by document’s mime type, file name extensions for a specified type and content handler.

To add new type definition enter mime type, select appropriate content handler and enumerate file name extensions used for a specified type. Description field is optional. Click on "Save" button when you finish.

To delete file type select appropriate definition in the list and click on "Remove" button. However, you don’t have to remove type definition to turn off indexing of that file type. You can make the same effect unchecking appropriate box in the "Index" column.

File type definition can be modified double clicking on an appropriate cell in the list.
