Description

TEMP Directory

The directory where index and temporary files are stored. Default is QuestTmp below directory where index profile is saved.

All profiles can use the same temp directory.

Chunk size (in KB)

The maximum size of index qat_* files.

Note: Chunk size can have a significant impact on run-time performance which is especially important when QuestAgent is resident on CD-ROM. 64KB is normally the optimal value for this parameter.

Ignore maximum

Ignore words that appear in more than the specified number of files. This parameter allows you to increase performance and reduce index file size by eliminating highly used words.

Note: If you set this and the Ignore percentage value set to zero, the only words excluded from the index are specified stop words.

Run optimization after indexing

Check this box to automatically run the optimization program after indexing.

Delete raw index files after optimization

Check this box to have QuestManager automatically delete raw index files after the files are optimized and output as final index files.

Deploy index files after optimization

Check this box to automatically copy index files to the deployment directory.

Log messages

Check this box to log indexing messages to a log file. The log file named log.txt is created in the temp index directory.

The log file lists files and directories processed, rejected words, events occurred in indexing and optimization processes, errors, etc.
